Palestine Action activist Fatema Rajwani, who was cleared of aggravated burglary and violent disorder, says the jury's verdicts were a vindication of their cause. Rajwani, a film and media studies student, told the jurors that she damaged drones during the break-in at an Israeli defense firm's UK site. Co-defendant Samuel Corner, the only one denied bail, was accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on a police sergeant. The defense argued that any violence was unplanned and that security guards used excessive force. Rajwani emphasized that the jury's not guilty verdict was based on their full understanding of the context, contrasting it with right-wing critics' edited footage. She expressed relief and joy at being out of prison, enjoying simple pleasures like eating real food and hugging loved ones. However, she acknowledged the traumatic experience and ongoing fear, stating that the last 18 months have been challenging. The Crown Prosecution Service has indicated a potential retrial, but Rajwani remains optimistic, focusing on her newfound freedom.
