Get ready for some major traffic disruptions, Perth! 🛣️
The Kwinana Freeway is about to experience significant delays and lane closures, and it's all in the name of progress. This weekend and the upcoming long weekend will be a test of commuters' patience.
Main Roads WA has issued a warning for drivers, especially those traveling northbound. From the Berrigan Drive off-ramp to the Roe Highway on-ramp in South Lake, lane closures and detours may be the new normal. And why? To accommodate the construction of rail maintenance facilities.
But here's the catch: the closures will be in effect during peak travel times. From 7 pm on Friday, February 20, until 6 am on Monday, February 23, and then again on the Labour Day weekend from 7 pm on Sunday to 5 am on Tuesday. That's a lot of potential frustration for drivers!
And this is where it gets interesting. Main Roads WA has taken to social media to inform the public, stating, "Lane closures, traffic management, and speed reductions are necessary for the construction of new track maintenance facilities. Be prepared for delays."
So, Perth commuters, are you ready for this challenge? How will you navigate these closures? Share your strategies in the comments, and let's help each other survive the upcoming traffic chaos!
